1990Capitol CrawlIt was a demonstration of how inaccessible architecture impacted disabled people. For more information: Capitol Crawl
1990ADAThe Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in several areas. For more information: DREDF – History of the ADA
1999Olmstead DecisionOne of the most important decisions related to disability passed by the Supreme Court. It states that disabled people could live in the community and receive services rather than in a facility. For more information: Olmstead Rights – Olmstead Decision
2000Spirit of ADA torch relayIt celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the 10th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For more information: Ability Magazine – Spirit of ADA torch relay
2003Free our People MarchThey marched so people could live free in the community and not die in nursing homes supporting MiCASSA. For more information: ADAPT Free Our People March
